POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly skilled Experienced Appraiser to join our appraisal team. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of experience, which may include training time, in commercial real estate appraisal and a strong understanding of valuation principles, methodologies, and market trends. Desirable candidates will be pursuing or already hold advanced designations and licenses that reflect best-in-class expertise in the field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Appraisal Production:
· Prepare comprehensive appraisal reports for various property types, including office, retail, industrial, multifamily, land, and special-use properties.
· Conduct detailed property inspections and analyze market data to develop well-supported valuation conclusions.
Client Management:
· Act as a trusted advisor to clients, addressing inquiries and providing insights on valuation strategies and market conditions.
· Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, fostering trust and repeat business.
Compliance and Standards:
· Ensure all appraisal reports completed comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), applicable regulations, and company quality standards.
· Stay informed about changes in appraisal standards, market trends, and legal requirements affecting valuation practices.
Mentorship:
· Be open to receiving mentorship from leadership and other senior appraisers, as needed.
· Support the professional development of junior appraisers by sharing expertise and providing guidance on complex assignments.
Business Development:
· Identify opportunities to grow the appraisal division, contribute to proposal writing, and support marketing efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Licensure:
· Certified General Appraiser license is required.
Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial real estate appraiser, including training time.
Preferred Designations (Not Required):
· MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute (or active pursuit of this designation).
· AI-GRS or AI-RRS credentials from the Appraisal Institute.
· RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) designation.
Skills & Competencies:
· Expertise in real estate appraisal methodologies and best practices.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
· Proficiency in appraisal software (e.g., Argus, CoStar, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
· Commitment to excellence and delivering high-quality work.
· Strong ethical standards and adherence to confidentiality.
· Collaborative mindset with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
